Is it bad karma when you have to buy a new AC unit for the travel trailer on the second day of a three-month trip?
Maybe not. We found a super service/repair facility with an unsettling name. However, the place was anything but "motley" and we ended up having some other minor maintenance items taken care of while we were there. In fact, because Motley's is conveniently located near I-40 just west of OKC, we are considering using them for future repairs and maintenance.
Even though the AC repair took a big chunk out of the day we somehow managed to make it all the way to Missouri before dark (thanks Kansas Turnpike). The flint hills were as beautiful as ever; northeastern Kansas was golden in the fading sun; and we crossed the Missouri River at Atchison, Kansas by dusk.
Tuesday was "Pasley Family Day"; starting with a visit to the always beautiful Camden Point Cemetery and ending with a fried chicken supper with my cousins (our parents would be very disappointed that we did not get a photo of the three of us, but Betsy did take a photo at the cemetery).
We loved our camping spot at Maryville's lovely Mozingo Lake; even if nobody else did. (We were also really happy to have the new AC unit because both the temperatures and the humidity were topping 90.)
